Company Culture
It’s important to know that Culture affects everything.
Your business has a culture whether you want it or not, and whether you like it or not. The key is to acknowledge it, learn from it, and manage it.
Culture is much deeper than the handshake you may see, the colors you might notice, or the sounds you might hear. Culture is a combination of many things, including color, sound, behavior, and thought. It’s far deeper than we realize!
Some people use the iceberg as an example. The tip of the ice is what you see, but the larger percentage of it is below the water line — and that is where culture exists.
I bring this up because business culture has shifted, often with national and global policies. Over the last few months, I’ve noticed a shift in the business culture, and in the global culture. While it’s really been happening for a few years, it is only recently that is has become clear.
You don’t have to comply with it, but you do need to be aware of it.
We’re seeing Codes of Ethics and Codes of Conduct shifting.
As a business owner, you have to choose which place to be in. You could shift with it, or choose to stay within your core values. While it’s hard to stay there, it’s important to know this is what makes businesses last.
