Defining Success

Many people think you’re only successful if you have a multi-million dollar business, home, or bank account. That’s certainly the image of success portrayed by the media.

What we’ve learned — in working with successful people around the globe — is that success is defined by the people who achieve it.

We’ve met many amazing, successful people who don’t have the multi-million dollar anything, and actually deny that measure.

They define success as:

  • The ability to travel where and when they want
  • Finding happiness in what they have accomplished so far
  • Feeling they have a million dollars worth of time to do what they want with friends and family

In other words, they define success in terms of their personal goals and desires.

Don’t be forced into a cookie-cutter definition of success.

Decide what it means to you in terms of what you like, what you wish to achieve, and where your goals and dreams will take you.

Is it money? Is it the ability to wind down? Time to spend with family? Do whatever whenever?

BEFORE YOU GO

We see our blogs as opportunities for dialogue. Please share your thoughts as comments.

  1. How do you define success?
  2. What do you do to keep your eye on the goal?
  3. What tools have you used to measure success for your own journey?
