Entrepreneurship as a Career

In my almost three decades speaking at universities, colleges, schools, and organizations around the world, the message has always been clear: the Entrepreneurship Mindset is key to shifting the training and education provided to the people for whom we are responsible.

In the past, a bachelors or masters degree allowed you to secure one or two jobs solid jobs throughout your career. We all know that in the 21st Century, that has shifted to about 10–15 jobs throughout your career.

Today, with COVID and everything else we know that it may be two jobs at one time! Next time you get into an Uber, Lyft or other car share, ask your driver — most likely they have at least one other job.

As we continue to offer professional training and education, I encourage you to insert Entrepreneurship Mindset into the programs you provide, giving hints to people that might take more than just one job to fulfill their dreams, and the potential that an entrepreneurial pathway has to lead to a successful career.

We see our blogs as opportunities for dialogue. Please share your thoughts as comments.
