Starting in 2014 and going all the way up till COVID hit in March of 2020, I was blessed to travel 10,000 miles in the air in a single day, and in some months, 20 to 30,000 miles — almost every month.

I was blessed to be on the very last international flight into Washington D.C. before the shutdown occurred. Since then, my 10,000 miles on a plane have shifted to 10,000 steps in my neighborhood.

I share this because as someone used to being on the move, traveling from one airport to another, running from one city or country to the next, and now finding ways to connect with the world via Zoom, Teams, or Google Hangouts — I’m doing what I can to ensure that I am putting in 10,000 steps a day to maintain my health.

We are beginning to see a shift in the environment. I have been fortunate to participate in a few hybrid programs, and more shifts are coming our way. Some programs will be a day or two in person, a day or two virtually, or other variants.

I encourage you to continue to find ways to stay in touch with your network, and to stay healthy as we navigate this latest transition.
